There is a sentence that sums up Venice’s week well: price and usage moved in opposite directions. The VVV token closed week 41 at 24.75 dollars, down 17.3%, while the platform’s internal consumption was touching its highest values ever recorded. It is the kind of divergence that deserves more attention than a chart.

The channel that carries the numbers

According to VeniceStats’ weekly report, in the week ended 11 October burns on the credit channel reached 18,976 units, a pace of roughly 2,711 a day: the highest since the channel launched in July, and the fourth consecutive weekly increase. Implied credit purchases are worth about 1.9 million dollars. Pro Sub subscriptions rose to 18,529, up 6% and the seventh consecutive increase, at a pace of roughly 2,647 a day. The net staking flow turned positive again at plus 119,685 VVV, almost entirely because of a single deposit of 107,000 tokens.

It should be said plainly: VeniceStats is a self-generated report, openly written by Venice’s AI and paid in DIEM, and its numbers are on-chain reconstructions, not official communications. They remain, however, the best available snapshot of the protocol’s economic cycle.

Emissions cut, demand growing

In the background, on 1 October Venice completed the last scheduled reduction of annual emissions, down to 2 million VVV a year from 2.5 million in September: roughly 86% less than the 14 million at launch. No further cut has been announced. With supply growing more slowly, the weight of the narrative shifts entirely onto burns and DIEM flows, whose price fell 12.6% to 1,831 dollars in the same week.

On the product side, the most interesting signal is Abliterated Large V2, the model derived from GLM 5.3 with refusals removed from the weights, distributed by Abliteration AI and available on Venice since 1 October, aimed at red teaming and security research. It is a niche, but consistent with the promise of a private, unfiltered platform.

What this decoupling really says

VVV’s price on 14 October is travelling around 22 dollars, with negative single-digit daily moves and a seven-day decline close to 20%: the correction has not yet run its course. The sober reading is that the market is pricing the token, not the platform, and the two do not coincide. If usage keeps rising while the price falls, Venice will have shown that its economic model works independently of speculation. If instead burns follow the price, this week’s divergence will turn out to be only a lag.
