Venice’s week of frontier models
Venice brings Muse Wonder, Gemini 4 Argon and Hy4 Preview onto its platform, adds private video and watches VVV climb back above 24 dollars.
In the space of a few days Venice has added some of the most talked-about frontier models of the moment to its catalogue: Meta’s Muse Wonder, Google’s Gemini 4 Argon and Tencent’s Hy4 Preview. It is the same strategy already seen with the Claude family, but at a pace that is starting to look like a signal: the platform wants to be the place where the best models arrive the same day, with no subscription and no account with the provider.
A catalogue that keeps widening
Muse Wonder is Meta’s most capable model, built for long-horizon agentic work: it plans, delegates to sub-agents, calls tools in parallel and recovers from errors, with a context window of over a million tokens. Gemini 4 Argon, announced by Google on 30 September and live on Venice since 13 October, arrives with the same million tokens and adjustable reasoning levels, at 2.50 dollars per million tokens for input and 12.50 for output. Tencent’s Hy4 Preview is an open model with 770 billion parameters — 49 billion active — built for coding, data analysis and research. All three run on Venice at the «anonymised» privacy tier: the user’s identity is hidden from the provider, even though the prompt still reaches the lab hosting the model.
Video, finally private
On the creative side, ByteDance’s Seedance 2.5 brings video generation up to 30 seconds in 1080p with native audio to Venice, from text, an image or up to fifty references. The point is not the duration: it is that it runs anonymously, with prompts that Venice says it neither stores nor profiles. For anyone working with content they would rather not have traced, the difference between a public render and a private one is the entire value proposition.
The token as thermometer
On the economic side, VVV is trading around 24.5 dollars, up roughly 10-12% in twenty-four hours, with a market capitalisation above one billion. The push comes more from a sector rotation towards AI tokens than from any specific piece of news, and the figure worth watching is a different one: the burn from subscriptions and credits has hit a new record, about 22,955 dollars burned in a single operation, beating a high that had held for six weeks. In the week from 9 to 16 October, according to community counters, 868 accounts posted on Venice, 424 of them never seen before.
One tension remains that the catalogue does not resolve: a public call for an investigation into VVV, addressed to a US senator and based on the accusation of distributing illegal material, is circulating with practically zero engagement and no official confirmation. It is not news, but it is the kind of criticism that accompanies any platform claiming not to filter. Venice’s bet is that you can sell access to the world’s best models without selling the identity of the people who use them: the week just closed says the technical part works, while the political part is still entirely to be played.
