A wallet buys $15.97 million of VVV as Venice tightens the supply
A new wallet withdraws 703,667 VVV (~$15.97 million) from Coinbase while record burns and falling emissions tighten the supply.
There is a contrast that says a lot about where Venice is heading. While the market was selling, a new wallet withdrew 703,667 VVV — about 15.97 million dollars — from Coinbase. At the same moment, the machine that burns VVV has just marked its most aggressive month ever. On one side someone is accumulating, on the other the supply is narrowing.
The bet of a new wallet
The figure comes from an on-chain analysis account, not from official sources: it should be taken with the caution it deserves. But the gesture is legible. Entering with a position of nearly sixteen million right as the price corrects is the typical behaviour of someone betting on the medium term, not of someone chasing the rally. For a token that lives on burns and staking, a buyer of this size is oxygen.
The deflationary machine
The underlying numbers support the thesis. October’s discretionary burn — about 414,000 dollars of VVV — is the largest ever executed in absolute value, according to the official account and the VeniceStats tracker. In parallel, annual emissions have fallen from 3 to 2 million VVV, with the two cuts of 500,000 tokens kicking in in September and October. To this are added the automatic burns tied to subscriptions and, since July, the programmatic ones on API credits: 5 dollars of every 100 spent buy and burn VVV. Cumulatively, about 42% of the initial supply of 100 million is already out of circulation.
Loans against VVV, without intermediaries
On the product side, the official account announced the possibility of borrowing against one’s VVV at a fixed rate and peer-to-peer. It is a piece consistent with the strategy: giving token holders a way to obtain liquidity without selling it, reducing pressure on the price. And meanwhile the supply of DIEM — the token that converts VVV into daily credits — has raised its cap from 38,000 to 40,000, in four steps between August and September.
Lumara and the market
On 8 October Venice also opened selections for the Lumara World Premiere on 26 October at the Roxy Cinema in New York: seven prizes, up to 100,000 dollars in cash and 10 million credits up for grabs. On the market, however, the moment is one of correction: VVV trades around 22.96 dollars, down about 7% in 24 hours, with a market cap of 1.11 billion and a protocol TVL close to 1.58 billion.
Conclusion
Venice is betting on a single idea: that real product usage grows enough to make burning revenue every month sustainable. The record burn and the wallet’s accumulation say that someone believes it. The market, for now, is waiting.
